Uniformity...

...or the lack thereof. This is a good thing for me. As I'm sure you've noticed there seems to be no one way to do a good web page, and there are plenty of bad ones out there. The web is full of variety. The point being that the web is this sprawling universe where diversity rules, for now. There are efforts (can you say Microsoft?) to standardize the web, I for one am against such things. I believe that the institution of standards, while having benefits in terms of convenience, is detrimental to creativity. We need to have as many options as possible to take the full advantage of the web's burgeoning capabilities. It will be a better web if we can make it even more diverse and get more people on line who previously did not have access to the web. The more the merrier.
